Here's irony for you. Even though we live in a Knowledge Age, where information is plentiful, multiple answers are available and research projects seem easier to complete, we have less time for creating new knowledge, it costs us more just to stay in place and we are limited to work in tightly defined areas.

And isn't it funny how we can be challenged by a real thorny problem on Monday, ask where our organization's direction or intention is taking us on Tuesday, realize the shortfall and gaps in our people's performances on Wednesday, feel frustrated by our failure to manage or control activities on Thursday and then by Friday, find very little innovation emerging from any of our efforts.

It's a crime to see that vicious cycle repeat itself over and over again in the lives and careers of so many good people. In my 30+ years of designing, launching, managing and leading Information Technology services in 75 countries, and working with thousands of competent professionals, I saw how many of them lacked the leadership, interpersonal, executive and management skills they needed to optimize their effectiveness and succeed in more of their endeavors.

And while I got to attend many leadership and management classes, I was always disappointed in the method of the course delivery, the non-existent follow-up support and the rather shallow nature of most course materials.

I discovered a few simple, yet efficient and very effective ways to develop the competence of your leadership performance using tried, tested, validated and reliable training methods...

Next, we used the proven principle known as "spaced repetition" to learn a greater amount of the course materials (the principle of "spaced-repetition" states that if you space-out the message you want someone to learn and repeat that message often enough, the student will retain, remember and absorb a greater amount of the lesson materials)

Then, we "blend" the types of lesson materials to powerfully connect with the different learning styles - For example, our lessons use video and audio programs, descriptive maps, models and diagrams, written transcripts along with printable guides and software-based or paper-based worksheets.
